Welcome. Out of the blue, let me please suggest you carefully study composition. A well-composed photograph will present a visually balanced result flattering to the subject and pleasing to the eye.
You may also wish to consider attending two workshops: (1) basic operation of a DSLR; and (2) basic photo-editing with software. These two workshops will provide a foundation while giving you confidence.
