I will eventually post some photos of elephants and giraffes and zebras, but the big cats are so beautiful (and cute) it is hard not to "focus" on them... This set is from an encounter we had with a sleeping pride of lions - 5 moms and 10 babies of various ages. The only challenge in photographing these is just finding them - these cats are so used to safari vehicles not posing a threat that the lionesses raised there heads to check us out and then promptly went back to sleep - even as we negotiated the vehicles in the brush around their sleeping heads!

Such beautiful kittens. Such powerful moms.
Such beautiful kitties. I like the yawn, it reminds me of my own kitty. Seeing them like this makes me want to go up and pet them - NOT. I'll keep my distance.
