E-mount Lenses

A good while ago, maybe over a year, there was a lively thread on E-mount lenses for the Sony a6xxx series cameras. One poster cited some review/rating sites. I am toying with the idea to add to my kit of lenses (16-55 mm, 50-210 mm, 35 mm macro). Would bridging the first two be a feasible option? Any other ideas.

My Sony 50/1.8 O.S.S.is my favorite for low light indoor sports. I like the 16-50 kit lens for travel. I have adapted a few Canon lenses to my a6000 but in truth they are a pain to use in some cases. In others they work well as long as you do not have to depend on fast AF. I think the Sony 35mm prime would be next on my list.

I just took a road trip with two lenses: 16-70mm f4 zeiss and the 10-18mm f4 which covered, nicely, about 90% of what I needed, and provided some excellent shots. I would have liked to have had a telephoto zoom to go beyond 70mm, and am looking at options now. I found the 10-18 was particularly useful in cities, enabling me to get shots of buildings that I couldn't get into the lower end of the 16-70.

The Sony 18-105 f4 OSS G is a really nice lens - very versatile. If you had one, I bet it would stay on your camera and the others would just collect dust.

I had the same 2 kit lenses you mention. Both covered the range I needed but I needed a decent prime lens for low light. Wound up buying the 35/1.8 and the 50/1.8 primes. Both are excellent lenses that get good reviews. I would recommend either one or both to fill out your needs. If I could choose only one, it would be the 35/1.8.

This might be useful. It's a recommendation for lenses for the Sony A6000 - E-mount.

Also, I know there is debate on this (FF lens on an APS-C camera), and the lenses will cost and weight more. But as long as you're doing some research, might be worth checking out. Here is a link that reviews the FE lenses: http://www.analogsenses.com/2016/01/13/gear-guide-the-best-full-frame-lenses-for-the-sony-e-mount/

The Sony 18-200mm is a good and versatile lens.
I had one when I had a NEX-7 and liked it a lot.

I carry an SEL18200LE, my preferred walk=around lens for trips. It usually lives on my a6300. Thanks to the amazing ISO performance (Perceptibly noiseless even at 6400) it will handle even low-light situations I used to use my f1.4 to do. My a6000 is almost as good.

I would like a longer lens, but I use my old Nikon 400 with an adapter for the moment.

I got a good deal on a Tamron 18-200mm on ebay. Very nice lens.
