Thanks nim! I planted a small bag of assorted colors and just my luck, the white one bloomed... not my favorite!! lol... I'll have to wait for next year!! Enjoy the day!
Angela, I also love Gladiolus but I have a little problem. Moles and voles. I once had an 88 foot planter of tulips with some glads mixed in. The first year was awesome, the second year was almost void of flowers. They ate somewhere around 350 different bulbs during the winter. Still have them in the yard and walking around causes a little problem, I put my cane down and it sometimes sinks an additional inch or two. I now need to walk carefully around my yard or end up on the ground. Your photos are awesome.

Ugh... that's terrible!! We had a mole a long time ago, but I think I'm seeing signs of one again!! I dug up these bulbs, so hopefully when he can't find anything good to eat, he'll go visit someone else! Be careful walking, Greg... those soft spots are treacherous!! You might want to plant some in a pot for next year! Glad you enjoyed these!
...glads!! Thanks to Jim for posting his beautiful gladiolus, I bought a small bag of bulbs and planted them quite late in the season. They started to grow and after stepping on most of them because I planted them too close to my milkweed, I couldn't believe it when I saw that one had bloomed even though it was hanging on the ground!! I quickly grabbed my camera before I dug up all the bulbs and now have them stored in the garage to be planted in a new spot next spring! They're supposed to be assorted, so looking forward to seeing what other colors pop up!

well i'm glad you planted your glads too and the white one is beautifully shot angela! i hope i can remember to plant some next year!
Your images are marvelous, especially the 2nd one. I am amazed that these bulbs came up and bloomed this late in the season.
Jim, the leaves popped up right away and then I realized I had put them in a bad spot.... I kept stepping on them to get to the milkweed. I was so surprised to find this one had bloomed, even while on the ground!! I'm planting them in a safer area in the spring and looking forward to other colors!! Thanks to you and your photos, I now have something else to shoot in my garden!! Glad you liked!!
