Our unique observatory in Gilbert.
What kind of telescope does it house?
The observatory houses a 16-inch diameter Meade, modified Richey-Cretien scope, guided by a Paramount ME computer controlled German equatorial mount slaved to The Sky professional computer program. SRP contributed all funding for this state-of-the-art scope.
Unusual looking observatory.
That's certainly interesting looking, George!

Wow! What a mouthwatering piece of equipment. I built a 6 inch Newtonian reflector about 24 years ago, and fitted it with an image sensor from a junk camcorder. I could fill a color TV screen with Jupiter which was pretty awesome, but the resolution was not that great. I'd love to see some images off of that scope.
I have to wait until they have an open house. I'll try next time...thx for the comment. Of course you could always come visit Gilbert now that the weather is cooling off.;;:)
