Nah, he's happy with his current phone.

But I still can't understand the obvious incongruity of talking about film and vinyl, but yet he uses a computer. . . Go figure . . .

Speaking of vinyl I never liked it. I was always a tape guy. I had open reel and cassette.
Speaking of film I still use it and I do like it. I don't think it's better than digital. Overall, digital is better. What you called the warmth color of film is its imperfection. In fact I hate the film look. I try my best to make my prints from film look neutral.
Oh by the way I am an amateur and I do what I like. I have no client to please.

Well, excuuuse me!!!
it was meant as a joke, a comment about how many people have to be on the bleeding edge, the early adopters like those who buy whatever Photography Today says is the next big thing
Now would you unbunch your panties?

I gave up photography out of frustration during my several years of film photography. I only came back to photography when digital matured to the point where my worst digital in auto mode is better than my best shots on film.
Yes I am an amateur - not rank, but amateur.

I couldn't afford film. A simple weekend trip costs hundreds of dollars in processing fees! But I do find richness - and dynamic range? - in my old transparencies that I am hard-pressed to get from digital.

I kind of like the color tones of the PanOlympian film... the smaller rolls are an added plus.

Sorry anyone who took my post seriously. I was simply playing off what has happened in the music recording industry when CD's were claiming they had the best sound ever. Until many folks sold their LP collection, the trend reversed.

Rank Amateur: a person with no experience whatsoever in an activity or situation

Sony is finding a new market with young listeners with their RE MASTERED digital vinyl records. I still have my Sony record player and the sound is unbelievable from the new Sony records. Also in the larger cities across US and Canada the old Vinyl record shops are popping up and the young folks are rediscovering the true sounds that only vinyl can deliver. My son has already said he wants my vinyl collection when I pass.

The need to carefully clean a vinyl record before playing it is a pain I will never forget. That is, if you wanted to preserve its sound quality and not grind the grooves with dust.

If I can just remember where I kept the batteries for the AE-1 or the EOS-1...

Oh, wow! There's a box of cassette tapes:
Caribao
Mannheim Steamroller
PDQ Bach
Credence Clearwater Revival

Now, if I can just catch that wave

Do you happen to have some metal tapes?
