A while back, I posted a couple of shots of the beginning of a cigar box ukulele. Some of you wanted to see the finished product. It looks nice, but it isn't very loud. I think it's because of a combination of too much internal bracing and the top. Unlike the other five sides, the tops isn't cedar but thick cardboard. It still has a nice sound, and I did it more for fun than to have another uke. For my next one, I'm going to make the box - all wood.

Well, you have impressed me :)
Looks very good, and surely the best thing to have around a bonfire somewhere :D

Well done Jerry

Outstanding! At a civil war reenactment a while ago, one man was playing a cigar box uk but I can't remember if the sound was any good.

Thanks. Even though it isn't loud, I'll still play it.

Jerry,
You did a beautiful job with that. Too bad you can't attach a sound file.

No, it isn't.

This was built more for an exercise than a musical instrument. I have enough real ukes.

Play that one with some other folks who play too, and you will surely "SMOKE" the competition!!
