Just got mine yesterday evening - I'm at the tail end of the UPS route. Best Buy was out of XQD cards so I will be shooting with just one card ... but I will be shooting!

Did you buy it in India? Didn't realize it was already available there. Enjoy and look forward to seeing your pictures.

I am so jealous. i was saving for a fuji gfx but from the initial reports the D850 blows the GFX out the water and it way less expensive.

Snapshots are too small to determine anything about the higher resolution.. If you have another Nikon camera, take the same shots at a high shutter speed or use a tripod. Then compare 25X of the same sections of the prints & display them here. I & others would like to see what the higher resolution, if & how much. Snap shots don't tell you anyrhing except color.

although I am not planning to get the D850, I do remember how impressed I was when I first started using my D810. I can imagine your thrill when you review your first pictures.

The pixel pitch is the same as the D500, I don't expect any different in image quality outside of low light and hi ISO images because of the Back Lit Sensor. The advantage that I see is the Focus Stacking for Macro and Landscapes. The ability to scan my old film negatives and digitize them also is something I am looking forward to doing. In fact, in good light conditions, I don't expect it will equal the images I get from my D7200.

Waiting to check these issues out. Will post some results when I have them.
