Very nice. Love those old steam locomotives.
Tis another Super Set, Jack! Just love those old Steam Engines.
This is the famous Nickel-Plate 765 locomotive which normally lives in a railroad museum outside of Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Comes to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park every other year. Is in a class referred to as "Berkshire" locomotives which were tested in the Berkshire mountains of western Massachusetts and were designed to pull heavy loads through mountainous routes. Quite a beast!
AWESOME PHOTOS!!
Have you ever been to Steamtown National Park in Scranton PA? They have some awesome locos there! And great photo ops
The Foamers are going nuts over this. Don't know what a Foamer is? He or she is a historic train enthusiast. They live for old steamers to pass by. When they do they "Foam at the mouth over the scene in front of them". Nice work...you see....I am a Foamer.
I'm so happy you posted those beautiful pictures.
We are out of town and missing Steam in the Valley.
I think my favorites are 1 and 3--the power of the engine coming out of the darkness.
Thanks!
Fascinating set Jack. As a life long rail fan, I have seen hundreds of photos of that former Nickel Plate RR locomotive for a long time. Thanks for posting these.
Beautiful Trains J, love #1 and #3
Very nice Jack,
As a child i lived 2 blocks from a huge turntable on the northwestern railway... I miss the sounds of those engines chugging away..
All the train photos are really nice. How did you manage to keep ahead of the engine?
