Why do you need to fabricate untrue insults, with a clear intent to bully another UHH member? You have never been run off or refused access, and indeed you are still posting clearly off topic posts, which are as always accepted as just that and discuss as just that.

That is a boldface lie.

The only person bullying anyone in the Street Photography is the moderator. Here is a typical statement from an hour earler:

"Insisting on obtuse word meanings, repeating the same justifications based on false statements about other images, and continuing to intentionally post inapropriate images is the very definition of trying to bully other members of this section. That is all the more true when you are also posting absolutely false and dishonest statememts about this section in other sections.

You claimed to have been banned here. One further provovation might lead to exactly that."

Apaflo's excuse in this instance is that jaymatt posted an image of a performer and disagreed with his objection that it was not street because it did not meet his current definition. Now he is bullying jaymatt and threatening him with banning. the moderator is the one "posting absolutely false and dishonest statements about [his] section in other sections."

How does he you deal with members who disagree with his current and fluid definition of street photography? He bullies them.

He has banned many members from his section, including me, using the fabricated accusation that he was the object of bullying. Lots of others who have not been outright banned are avoiding his section voluntarily because of his bullying.

The irony is that he himself created the thread Street Photography as only possible in Cuba in which he praised a series of posed ballet performers in the streets of Cuba and called that street photography. Are images of performers qualified to be street photography only in Cuba? Posed?

So he is not only a liar and a bully, he are also a hypocrite. He is a joke, a laughingstock. What I am saying is not bullying. It's the truth.

many have received the wrath of Apaflo and his only definition of street. I have not been banned, but I choose not to post there

Get a life. When there are people suffering through illness, hurricanes, and extreme loss, you all are wasting time and energy on this stuff?

My viewpoint has been that fighting with section management is a poor use of time and energy. As I did in another thread, I encourage you to try the "Traditional Street and Architectural Photography" section
http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/s-122-1.html
I have never posted there - the few images I would have considered posting there I've posted at FYC instead - but I have had interactions with most of the management team there, and I consider them to be reasonable people.

Going? Going out of control? Not at all. The word "going" implies a future tense. Moderator "Apoplexy" forced Street Photography far off course, by his ridiculous insistence on rigid definitions forged (a carefully chosen word, based on forgery) from carbon steel and titanium. His picayune picky criticism became so annoying that I was forced to leave. That was just what he wanted, but I have ceased to care. Nazis will always be Nazis. /Ralph Jay Wallace

It has already spilled over. See his post here and my original reply here. Both of these were in the Main Photography section where he was trolling someone else.

It boggles the mind why Admin placed a notorious sociopath and troll in charge of his own section. I was not the only one shocked. A group of other UHH veterans created the Traditional Street and Architectural Photography less than one month after the launch of Street Photography as a reaction. They do not post there because they won't put up with his abuse. One talented member has stated that, "These pointlessly pedantic arguments over what is and what isn't "street" fueled, in the main, by Apaflo, are the very reason I seldom post any more of my "street" pictures on UHH." Note, that's on UHH, not just Apaflo's section. It affects everyone!.

I have a PM from another poster (who may not be there long) stating, "... the guy really is psychotic. He has only got Voss and Jaymatt holding things together. Without them he really will be moderating an empty room."

But the real danger to UHH is that new members might be so turned off by him that they simply leave the forum altogether. New members are the future of UHH.

Obviously so are you. Ignore what you don't like on UHH. Trying to change it is futile and a waste of the same time and energy.

Here are just some PMs I have received since September 1st from both new and veteran UHH members:

"When I stumble on something worth sharing I certainly don't need a know-it-all side tracking my occasional contribution."

"I think his biggest skill is he knows how to cut and paste."

"He does not seem to have any practical experience. He may or may not have the cameras he says he owns, and in any case ... his photography does not go beyond snapshot quality, which I can do a better job of with my cellphone."

"... if the OP thought it was appropriate for this section, he was within his rights. I'm dropping the Street Photography forum."

"That's too bad, especially if it results in folks leaving what could be a very interesting section. I see now that he's going too far with his opinions in this thread. Not very classy. He should have let it drop."

"... for the second time in three years, I have this morning unsubscribed from the Street Nazi's section. He has driven me out again. "

"I didn't realize he was the expert on all things Street. He'll kill the section as surely as the Critique section died from arbitrary rules. One set for the hosts of the site and their 'friends' and another for the bourgeoisie."

"I tried to end the debate graciously but he kept going. Now I either have to respond or ignore his response, which what I think I'll do."

"He is pissing people off then softening his tone and running around with a net to try to get them back."

Older members know enough to ignore him. It's the new members where he is doing the most harm by driving them off.

This ban and ignore list stuff seems to bring out the inner child in some members... and not in a good way!

It's simple, Scotty.
Those who, for their own reasons, prefer Apaflo's "Street Photography" Section will continue to post there. Those who, for their own reasons, can't stomach Apaflo's management style, will post their street photography in the " Traditional Street and Architectural Photography" Section.

Really simple, Scotty.
Each to his own.
Free choice.

...and those self-important, self-appointed experts who fail to get recognition in any other way will continue to start inconsequential threads such as this one, which have no real point other than to provide a personal soapbox for their personal, inconsequential rants and to gather the occasional sycophantic "Yeah! What you said" sorts of comment.

Hoping you feel fulfilled (in whatever pathetic manner satisfies you....)

That's rich coming from someone who persists in posting dozens of vertically misaligned pairs of single images claiming that if you cross your eyes just right you can see three dimensions.

You get a lot of dutiful nods from your friends but you have to ask yourself if they are not just humoring a delusional old man.
