Why post what you "suspect" when somebody asks a question to get information?

Your suspicions are incorrect. The information is available on the Nikon website.

Because I went online and saw a host of shooting modes the did not include them. Being cautious, I did not say it absolutely doesn't have.

Does that answer your question?

Great camera, but as a special purpose adjunct to what ever you currently use. Tripod/support is a must. For birds, wildlife, etc. it is great.

Does anyone shoot with the Nikon P 900? If so, how do you like the camera and are you satisfied with the resulting photos? Any downsides to this camera/ Thanks

I have been using a P900 for about a year now, and consider it more of a niche camera. It's size, weight, and cost mean I can carry a smaller, lighter, affordable camera with a great telephoto lens in places where I would never carry a larger DSLR with a long, heavy, telephoto lens [imagine backpacking, a tour bus, in a crowd indoors, or perhaps in a small airplane]. On the negative side, the camera leaves a lot to be desired: no RAW, no hot shoe, a "continuous shooting mode" that leaves you waiting with a useless camera for about 7 seconds, a poor manual focus mode, and decent but not great IQ. I have Canon 6D and 70D cameras in addition to the P900, and I consider either Canon camera to be more user friendly and useable, as long as I don't need that awesome 2000mm [equiv.] lens.

I just bought one yesterday to take hunting (I don't hunt but I like to sit in the blind with my camera) I'm going to the lease today to try it out. The only reason I bought it was for the zoom, I think you can get a much better camera if you don't need 83X zoom. The body is the same size as my Canon SL2 dslr - so if your looking for a smaller good camera - you may just try that.
But I'll let you know how I like it when I get home - I'm going to use it for everything this weekend

Kind of a Love & Hate with the Camera...

The Zoom & Wide Angle is Fair, No Hot Shoe For a Detachable Flash, Kind of Heavy, Like The Canon SX-50 & 60 a Flip Out Back Screen, Creative Filter Mode, & Other Features I Can't Mention.

Otherwise P900 is a Good Bridge Camera

Kind of like the stripped down version of a 1960s muscle car. Huge engine offering great straight line performance, but overall, hampered by the cheapest interior, no radio or air conditioning, drum brakes, and bias ply tires

Overall, I am quite happy with my P900. It has some limitations, but it does almost everything I need. Will it do everything? No, but such a camera doesn't exist. Is it as bad as a phone camera? Not a chance unless you really don't know how to use a camera.

If you are okay with a Bridge camera, and many of us are!, you will love your P900. You might also take a look at the Nikon B700 and the Canon SX60. Obviously no Bridge camera = a high quality DSLR with a good compliment of lenses. But a good Bridge camera does have its advantages. Have fun with your choice.
