Please, some tips on shooting sunsets over water.
Thanks Dun1 ...I will be using it!
The point I was trying to make- was to experiment. Using a digital camera makes it easy to shoot lots of combinations. From f-stop to shutter speed- with these set-ups you can achieve various looks in a picture. Shutter speed bracketing works well too.
Thanks pounder, it always helps to have a place to start so to speak.
I've often read recommendations about using Cloudy WB....but I've used Shade WB with more pleasing (and accurate) results. Try both....and definitely bracket +/- 2/3 stop in both cases. Other than that, no need repeating the great advice others have shared. Mafadecay is soooo right about how quickly the light changes.....I saw a splendid sunset on the Oregon coast last week and ran upstairs to grab my camera (why didn't I have it with me?!).......30 seconds later, that splendid lighting was history. And I missed the shot. I was grumpy the rest of the night.
