Took a look at areas near me here in the CA Sierras and found this map way behind the normal fall color time - about 2 to 3 weeks -
at 7,000 and up on CA I 80, 50,89,88,4 and 120 , the last 5 days of Sept. and first 14 of Oct are generally prime colors - watch out in that time for early snow above 6,000 ft. Oh and it is also Deer hunting season so bright colored cloths are suggested.
Thank you, we're heading to Acadia NP and we we're wondering what the out look was for the autum colors from September 16 through October 4th. Thank you for the post
Thanks Jerry! I was just thinking about finding something like it. The swamp maples are going to red north of where I live, a sure sign that Mount Tabor will get good colors soon.
There is fall colors north of the US of A. This map shows nothing for us Canadians. We got camera's too.

The site is run by the US Natn'l Park Service. Is there a corresponding Canadian Govt agency you can check with? If you find one, post it. Maybe we'll come visit! Or that could prompt your govt to create one if it doesn't exist.
