I've been using my Nikon D3300 for a while with no real problems. After a several month hiatus, I turned it on to shoot some pictures and found that my 18-55 mm lense will not focus. The picture look blurry. I checked against my 55 - 200 mm lense and that one focuses fine, so I'm guessing it is not a problem with the camera body itself, but strictly with the lense. I've carefully cleaned the front and back but no help there.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Is is something about the camera settins?
Hoping for some help here.
There are electrical contacts on the lens and corresponding area of the camera. Make sure those surfaces are clean. That is the simplest troubleshooting step. The next will probably require a tech to look into it.

Where are the electrical contacts? And how to do clean them?
Thanks,

Cleaning the lens contacts seems to have cured the problem.
Thanks
