A quick thumbs up and hat tip to Sigma. My Sigma 17-70 was on a camera that ended up face down on a high school track. I dusted it off, checked it out and continued the shoot, with a couple back up shots with a different camera and lens. On Monday I sent it to Sigma Service in New York with their downloaded form describing what happened. The lens appeared to be OK. The pictures taken after the incident were fine but the Hama lens hood was jammed on and dented.
They received it on Thursday. On Friday I received an email that the lens hood had been removed and it was being returned at no charge.
On Wednesday I received the lens, all cleaned up, and the lens hood, still dented but marginally serviceable. (It will be discarded and replaced.)
This is my first service experience with Sigma. I have become accustomed to this type of service from Canon, but I was still pleased and impressed.

Glad to hear Sigma's repair facility is top notch. I have a couple of Sigma lenses and considering the cost of Canon 'L' lenses I purchased a couple and couldn't be happier with the focusing, build and IQ

Living on Long Island I'm able to drive out to the Sigma Facility. Brought my lenses out to get minor adjustments twice. They were each ready in less than 1/2 hour while I waited. Nice facility. Very friendly personnel. Very professional.
Always good to hear. Thanks.
About 3 years ago I had one of the original Bigmas...a 10 year old Sigma 50-500...no stabilization. There was a fair amount of play in the barrel so I sent it in for a estimate. It was about 10 days and hadn't heard anything...getting ready to call them and it was delivered that day. All repaired and clean...no charge...just cost me for shipping it to them. It was well past the warranty period. Needless to say I was a instant Sigma fan.
