Sorry, but I think that neither one is portfolio-worthy. Nothing seems really in focus. This is why pp is needed in most cases, to get the most out of your photos.

I would retake the photo wide open- f2.8 or wider- to get a mic fade from super-focused to blurry. I like that you gave it a sepia tone to add to the old feeling of the locks.

Thanks for your ideas. Very helpful! I have a 50mm f1.7 prime lens I will try. >Alan

Wow! They let you in the postoffice with your camera??

This was shot in an old hospital building where I am a volunteer. If I tried in a Post Office, I would probably be arrested!

The first looks more like actual color.

Its all subjective and the context each is used weighs on the choice of which is 'better'.
But, hey - I like the 1st image more :)

I agree with rmalarz.
The first is more realistic, color wise, while the second has an antique feel about it.

I also agree that number one is more realistic.

I like the first shot, aellman, but the second one emphsises the "antique" factor.

I like the antique version, but most people here like to first one. Thanks for your comment! >Alan

They are both nice, but my preference is the first one. I find the coloring in the first one to be preferable.
