Go to nikonusa.com, and ask someone there. They will know the most about it. I suspect the lens would mount, but not be fully useful, and may take some damage, but I don't know for sure. Ask those who do...at Nikon.

It will mount, but it will not cover the full-frame of 35mm film. Depending upon which exact DX lens, the vignetting may not be too bad, and with many DX zoom lenses the vignetting will disappear as you zoom toward the longer focal lengths of the range.

Welcome to UHH. DX lenses will regularly will provide enough coverage to cover film at some of their focal lengths, but not all. Use what you can, there is nothing wrong with it, The DX lenses might be soft in the extreme corners, but you can also use that to your advantage.

It depends on the lens for function. The old DX 18-70 and 18-135 lenses function on the F100. The only current DX lenses I KNOW work on it are the 85mm Micro and 10.5mm Fisheye lenses. Most current DX lenses will MOUNT but will not properly function.

I am using a 35 1.8g Dx lens on a N90s Nikon. Works great in program and shutter mode but not in manual or aperture mode if that helps

The proper answer to your question is no but I am going to say that it depends on the lens also. DX lenses do not cover the whole sensor since they are designed for smaller sensors but in some cases, like it happens with my 12-24 f4 AF-S I can shoot with it and full frame from 16mm to 24 without vignette.
Just remember that DX lenses are not for use in full frame bodies and in your particular case that applies.
