Sometimes shots are great even when the focus is a bit off. I was shooting the Philly 10K finish line yesterday. Have not done a finish line in a while and I forgot to turn off BBF. After an hour my thumb was tired, but that is a different issue.
Below are three shots of showing a particular finishing group. I was focused on the finish line and did not see all of this until I got home and downloaded. But In the first shot you can see a wheelchair runner (Julianne #4367) reaching out to another runner (Kinzey 2464) just about to cross the finish line. They are well behind the line and out of the DOF. In the next you see them a few feet from the finish hold hands. The third is the finish.
What I like about this is the connection between two competitors, one in a wheelchair and the other blind. Kinzey, who is blind, ran a 47:35 10K. That is around a 7:30 pace! I also should mention Gregory off to the left who is Kinzey's guide runner and Cedric, off to the right, who assists every runner in Philadelphia at one time or another.
