I have 2 Sony A6000's and one Nikon. The Sonys get carried and used 95% of the time. They are fantastic cameras. The only downside I have found is the illogical menu system but once you get used to it it's not so bad. The David Busch book on the A6000 is far superior than the sorry Owner's Manual that comes with the camera. Get one. There are also some excellent Youtube videos to help you get acquainted with the camera. If you are looking for a small, compact, lightweight, camera that is loaded with the latest technology and takes beautiful photos, you will love the A6000.

Yes, to the 18 -105. My only other lens is the 24mm 1.8. What a change from the Nikon D810 with half dozen lenses.

Well, I don't have the a6000, I went for the a6500. The one thing that I find missing is a comprehensive spread sheet of the menu. I am going to create a spreadsheet of mine, and then go into all the options and try to get all of the sub-menu options. There are many times I want to set a menu item, and then find that it is grayed out as some other setting prevents it being set. Sony should come up with this as it would make learning the menu so much easier to use.
Love my a6300. Unless you're on a budget, I'd go for the a6500.

I have one and like it a lot. But because I could not get long enough lenses until now, I got the RX10(3) which is not as big as you'd think for when a big lens is on the a6000.
For IQ, the a6000 is a lot better than the RX10(3) but it's much harder to get a good shot with the a6000.
When I rented a a7R2 the IQ - especially at higher ISO's - was way, way better than the a6000's even for equal zoom, lighting, etc. But the difference in size and weight (and price!) is significant.

If I had to do it today, I'd get the a6500, price notwithstanding, so that I could use IS on legacy lenses. My favorite lens for the a6000 is the FE70-200 F4.0 G. But I have to admit that the kit lenses are pretty good.

But if you like the price, buy the a6000; it's a very, very good camera IMHO.

Make no mistake. As much as I like the A6000, it does not replace my D750. That is my go-to camera.

I tried the A6000 as my first mirrorless camera, and I doubt I will ever replace it. It doesn't have in-body stabilization like the 6500, but it's a fraction of the cost, and if you want stabilization just use lenses with OSS. And I agree with Jerry--it is not a DSLR replacement.

Have the original a6000 loaned it to my son. Have the a6300. i traveled for 10 days last week and take a6300 with the 16 to 70mm zeiss.
This rig take great images and video. I never stop enjoying the images I see off the camera. Shot 4k video (don't often not fam 4k) at a zoo in PA with grandkids
and the camera got a little warm after a while but it was not problem. This rig can go in a briefcase or very small camera bag. I would like
to have the 6500 with stabilization but it is no big deal. I am lucky to have the Sony a7s II for my video work and stills.
The last time I liked a camera like this was the Nikon 7000. It just feels right. Imagery is great.

As I have noted earlier, the mirrorless cameras make bringing your camera with you and taking lots of pics easy. I stopped bringing my Nikon d7200 and lenses with me. It was a pain in the neck. I'm getting great w my mirrorless.

For price the a6000 is hard to beat. I own one. But when the a6500 came out I immediately ordered one for the in body stabilization. I use several old Minolta lenses with no IS along with my Canon lenses.

The in body stabilization is a huge feature. It allows one to shoot in-camera pano's with perfect sharpness. I love pano's, and have 3 printed and framed in my house. 16 x 60 really shows what a place looks like.

Along with my 4 Canon cameras assortment of lenses (8mm to 600) I have my Sony A-6000 on the seat beside me all the time. It has become my "Get The Now Shot" camera. I have made prints up to 30X40 inches with this really cool camera. I would expect that one could make a 40X60 from this with careful editing.

Because I have such a great assortment of lenses I also purchased a adapter so that the Sony A-6000 can take and use the Canon lenses I have. Most I must manual focus - but being from a time of only manual cameras this is really no "big deal". The lens that came with the Sony is a good lens for "general" captures - And is a really good "walk-around" lens.... And it really works well for some Close-Up work as well.

If you are thinking about a good and light weight camera that will have excellent quality images... Look no further than the A-6000.

Attached is a Non-Edited image, Using the lens that came with the camera. .....

I have a a6000, like the others have mentioned, I tend to use it more and more on each shoot. I still love my a99ll but when I am just roaming around the size and weight of the a6000 helps in the spontaneity of shooting. If I had had the money, I would have opted for the a6500 for the stabilization. But for the price, the a6000 is fantastic. I started out with the a5000 and moved to the a6000 for the viewfinder. I think my a6000 is a keeper. Happy Shooting.

I had the a6000 and was pleased with it. I upgraded to the a6300 because it had an improved sensor wiring harness and a metal body. Otherwise the two are almost equal in features.
