Great image- I watched it in Oregon with clear skies. Much more beautiful than I thought it would be.
Love it, now I am jealous.

Hi Folks, I just got home from a day long adventure with the Nashville Photography Club. I photographed everything from frogs, flower and turtles to flowers and food. Oh, and I did get a few eclipse shots. Here's my first processed photo taken at totality. That was amazing, the light went from like a heavy overcast day to night in just seconds and we lost 6 degrees of temperature.

Beautiful James. I got one from my yard in Hendersonville, TN. It is unedited. I changed the file from RAW to jpeg in NX-d and cropped it in Windows 10 image viewer.
Great shot ...Even picked up a couple of flares with it. Wish I could have seen it myself.

I only had a partial here (Strasburg, VA), but it was enough to lower the temp 8 degrees. Had a nice long strangely lit twilight. Then the heat popped back hotter than ever.
Looks like you caught a Solar Burst at 3:00 on the dial !
Well done James - great capture.

Excellent. One of the best photos of the eclipse I have seen. What where your exposure information?
Thanks Everyone for the great comments. Sorry for the delay in replying...I was so tired from sitting in the heat and traffic for hours that I went to bed pretty early last night. Feeling a bit more refreshed today. Some have asked for details so I'll attach the EXIF data. Looking back, I'd wished I'd exposed the image a wee bit darker. Some of the flairs are slightly blown out. They were bright but I did record some reddish tint to them. In my moment of excitement, I wasn't thinking except to get some shots. I was relying on the feed back from the sensor through the electronic eyefinder. The shot looked good at the time but it was a very small image that I was seeing. I cropped this one quite a bit. I tried using a tripod but found it too difficult to read the camera settings with it pointed at the sun, so took it off so I could look through the viewfinder and hand held all of my eclipse shots. Anyway...thanks again folks, glad you enjoyed viewing the image.
