About 25% into shooting the eclipse with
My 7D started overheating...was shooting with a solar filter and everything no permanent damage but if I wasn't paying attention...
I used an eclipse filter and captured several partials without any issues. During total eclipse I was able to shoot without a filter and shoot this.

I'm a newby to this but have enjoyed reading it. I had some luck with the weather in Georgia for the eclipse. Didn't fry anything either.
Nice shots, didn't fry anything did it.
My cameras are still fine. The sunspots helped me to check the focus.
I was not in a total eclipse area. The eclipse was around 95% but I didn't need to travel anywhere but my backyard.

We had cloud cover but I managed to sneak one in without the #12
There's one on April 8, and it will be total over Buffalo, Rochester (NY) and across to Vermont and Maine. I hope to be in Rochester to shoot the Eclipse.

Very nice...welcome to the forum.
I took some pictures of our yard here in eastern NC prior to the eclipse and just as it reached the maximum coverage for our area. There was a 5-stop decrease in light, going from an initial exposure of 1/750s, f/2.2, ISO of 32 to a final shot at 1/60s, f2.2, ISO of 40.

Anyone going to fess up to frying their camera today?
Mine's still working just fine after the eclipse...only used ND filters too.
Mine too. I took pictures of the eclipse with no filter and I looked at it without solar glasses. Great event.

Administration moved it into main photography section as just a post. This is my first attempt to setup a gallery. Obviously I did something wrong.
To post in gallery you need to have a photo in the post.

That one is in 2024, still I'm making early reservations with the relatives in Buffalo, and collecting the nessacary gear to practice with. Also hoping to be very adept with my cameras by then.

I do hope your eyes are okay. That shot could be the front door on your outhouse.
Ted who didn't even leave the recliner for the festivities in Palm Bay.
No problem with my equipment- Sony a7R and 400mm Tokina prime: Larry
We had 81% coverage in St Pete area, shadows thru tree leaves were a crescent shape, outside was slightly less bright at maximum coverage, easy to see with solar glasses and telescope/camera filters. Thank God we have wonderful weather for it here.
