I'm a digital artist who takes occasional photos ( via iPhone at the moment ) I'm looking to buy a good beginner camara and get more into photography. I hope to get some good tips from this forum about kinds of cameras and how to take good photos of sunsets, hummers, flowers, wildlife and my two grandboys!
Hope everyone has a fantastic day!
Welcome! Looking forward to your posts and pictures. Happy shooting!
I would start at your local photography store if you have one. They can help you choose the right camera for your needs. Definitely go DSLR so you can change lenses as your needs change. All of the major brands have great equipment so it is a personal choice. How the camera fits your hands, the weight, and the balance may be factors to consider in addition to quality. You will want to graduate from the kit lens as soon as possible. Lenses can make or break your quality. A solid tripod will be important for things like sunsets. They also make crisper pictures of flowers, birds, wildlife, etc. I use a tripod whenever I can. Good luck!
Welcome to the forum. You will get great help here for certain. Good beginners camera???? Not sure nowadays. I started with a Canon 10 megapixel DSLR and loved it and took some very nice shots with it but that wa s10 years or so ago and nowadays there are loads of point and shoots that have more assets than that one had.I'm sure someone on here will advise you and good luck and "enjoy what you do and do what you enjoy"

Welcome and enjoy DesertRose.
Welcome from Vail, Az. Consider Nikon D500, an excellent camera that would be good for all of your interests. I personally shoot nature and landscape. Although in October will be at the Balloon festival in New Mexico.
That main thing is enjoy photography, have fun!

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your camera purchase. If you have a camera club in your area I would suggest going to their meetings. Get to know the members and talk camera's. You can handle their equipment and get good advice.

Welcome to the site. Would go to a few meet-up groups and accumulate some local knowledge before pulling the trigger on a new purchase. Several in the greater Phoenix area on the internet. Also suggest buying refurbished. Good as new and cheaper. I doubt there are any bad entry level cameras out there today. You may find the biggest problem you have is too many choices! lol
Would avoid big box stores, at least for initial purchase. If you are in Phoenix, you can visit Foto Forum at 4834 N 7th St. They love to talk camera and will give you good advice. Best of luck.
Welcome to the forum. Photo Forum, a camera store in Phoenix, is a great source for your camera needs. Very informative staff and no .sales pressure. They are also willing to help you with your questions after the sale.

Welcome to the fun and frolic. As mentioned, if you have a local camera shop, get on down there and try a few brands out, they will
guide you as to your likes and dislikes too. Good luck.
