I am patiently waiting for fall migratory birds. But insects are fun too. I just don't know insects as well as I do birds.

Wow! Two great images! I preferred the bee photo because of the coloration; but, the damsel fly was intriguing with its detail.

Nice shots! I don't know insects or flowers for that matter, but only a few birds are around right now so insects and flowers will work for now.

Fantastic shots Larry. Your damsel is a female Spotted Spreading (Lestes congener)and the other is a flower fly, or syrphid fly, or hoverfly (Helophilus pendulus). Fine work.

Your damselfly appears to be one of the Dancers but I don't know north west species.
Your bee is a hoverfly, probably Helophilus fasciatus.

Thank you all for looking and especially the input on what they are. Im afraid I dont know my insects very well but have been learning by taking photos.
