Wear something sexy and use a light splash of an alluring cologne. When you wake up, call and turn down the session.

That made me laugh

It sounded a little salacious, yet safe!

Video the entire session and tell her you are doing so for both your protection. Works for the police. Well sometimes.

Video is your friend. If she is uncomfortable with video, seeing as how those things often end up on the internet, get a voice recorder. They are so small they will fit in your shirt pocket and then every word spoken will be on record. In some states you need the consent of both parties to legally record a conversation. Most states you don't.

You'll need a glass coffee table and some whipped cream.

I don't want your boyfriend! As Obummer said: If you want your boyfriend, you can keep your boyfriend!

He was giggling at the time and not at all trustworthy.

He was definitely not trustworthy. However we don't want to trash on this thread.

My apologies...I've been jumping around and didn't notice the forum change.

I have a question for all of you. I have an acquaintance that has contacted me about doing a Boudoir shoot. She wants the photos to surprise her boyfriend with. I have done this kind of photography before, but with trusted close friends. However this is someone that I have not known for long. My question is, in this day and age of law suites and untrue accusations, how can I protect myself against any problems. She has requested that there not be anyone else at the session. I am tempted to turn down the session, but at the same time, I don't want to offend her.

As a few folks already mentioned...

- Do not be alone with the person. Best bet is not a friend of anyone like it but another pro such as a hair/make-up artist.
- Video or audio tape the full cession and let the person know you are recording (a hidden recording may give you grief if the person is not aware).

Saying 'no' is always a possibility but then again boudoir photography - if well done - is a lucrative market often ignored.

My, how topics have changed! It has been a very long time since I peeked in on UHH, and this is not something I expected to see. I glanced at the replies, and found them all either valid points, or hysterically funny. I did not, however, notice any responses from women. It's very possible that their profile is intentionally ambiguous, and that's all good. I'll just add my $.02.

Does this potential client refuse to have a nurse in the room when she is at the gyn. for her annual appointment? The nurse is there not just to be an extra set of hands to assist the doctor, she is there for the protection of both the patient and the doctor. This is the same kind of situation. You need to protect yourself.

If you can't bring someone in to assist with hair and make-up, you will need/want someone to change lenses/filters/adjust lighting, etc for you. If your potential client refuses that, tell her the session will be voice or video recorded. If she balks at that, then run for the hills. This sounds like a set up waiting to happen.

I hate to make the young lady sound like a villain, but if she does not want any witnesses around but is willing to have photos taken of her by an (almost) complete stranger, something is really off.

Too sensible! No more from you today! "No soup for you!" according to Seinfeld.

That was the 'soup nazi' line.

I want to thank all of you for your input. The serious suggestions are excellent, and the humorous ones are hysterical, you had me laughing out loud. Thanks again to all, I value your input.

Go with your gut feeling, man. If something inside you is saying don't do it you'd better listen.
