Philly sky line from Neshaminy park
My family moved from NYC to Philly in 1941. I was 9 years old at the time. in 1942 we moved to the Oxford Circle area, and occasionally went swimming and (hand-line) fishing in Neshaminy creek as well as Pennypack creek. I graduated from Frankford High in 1949. I am confused about what body of water is shown here, since I have swum across Neshaminy creek and it was a piece of cake, being maybe 50 yards wide, and I wasn't much of swimmer in those days. Anyway, nice picture. For a closer skyline shot, from the Cooper river (which I had never heard of) in Camden, Google 'Astronomy picture of the day' to get todays picture and give you the ability to see every daily picture back to 1995. I forget what the caption for the picture is but you could try 'Philadelphia Skyline' in your search. Best, Johnala.
It look more like the Philly skyline from somewhere in New Jersey looking across the Delaware.
The body of water is the Delaware river, which moves right past Neshaminy park.
It was taken from the shoreline of Neshaminy park on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware river.
Very nice!! Have you tried the skyline from Belmont Plateau?
I haven't tried the skyline from Belmont Plateau, this is the first I've heard of it.Where exactly is it?
Ohhh, I love this, timepass! I'll have to try to get a shot next time we're at that park! I've gotten the Philly skyline from the 5th floor in Abington Hospital!
