Mule Deer and Lizard Head Peak - Telluride, Colorado

Took these photos a couple of weeks ago while touring SW Colorado. Was just barely able to catch the mule deer before they went over the hill. Had to find a place to pull over, grab the camera and run back down the Hwy. to catch them. Couple of young bucks.

Lizard Head Peak at 13,113' is considered one of the hardest and most dangerous peaks to scale in Colorado. Saw this scene as I was leaving the Alta ghost town site. Liked the play of sunlight and shadows and had to wait for the cloud to lift to catch the whole scene.

Nice photos. Even at a distance, the deer are a good catch.

Nice shots of those 2 bucks in velvet, jederick. You really got a great picture of Lizard Head Peak...definitely worth the time waiting for the cloud to lift.
