Taken with my, As Adicus, so aptly described with my no. 8 wire camera set up, I used in my Hillbilly as Hell post.
The sun did come out today.
Here are 2 shots of the sun. One is straight out of the camera the other has been photoshopped.
I may go and get a # 12 gold plated welding lens, The 10 worked, and the camera and lens are fine, but a 12 would have been a litte darker out of the box.
Interesting, kind of an unnatural color though. With the darker solar filters I have, sunspots are visible, the color is natural and there's no colorful halo. But then the welders mask filter does work and they are a whole lot less expensive. A good alternative for those who are interested only in photographing the eclipse.
Try one of the solar filters from Amazon. Fairly cheap and may give you a sharper image. Good luck.
Under $20 for a welding lens. Although, I think a # 12 will be better, at 2 shades darker.
This is for fun, my own private, hang it on my wall, type of picture.
I doubt if National Geographic, is going to be in touch.
pdsdville, I did order one today. I have 2 cameras. I will use the solar filter one one and the welding lens on the other.
Certainly different! Nice effect.
