Bay photo and Mpix used to be identical. The differentiator for me was that Mpix had a better float mount system on the back - 3-hole mount instead of that awful French cleat dealie.
Lately, though, MpixPro had gone into the toilet. They got new printers, insist they still require sRGB jpgs, but the color quality has been washed out, too cyan, just terrible. The regular e-surface prints look way better. So for now it's Bay photo.
Attached is an 8x12 print on top of a 16x24 metal print from MpixPro, same exact file.
I use collage.Com first time buyers used to get 40% off. They have did 24 x 36's and 16 x 20's for me and they look great. With the discount the large Prints ran around 108 plus 20 shipping.

TheDman, thank you for your graphic post.
I was going to recommend Mpix, but I'm disappointed to see such a disparity in the results in your metal print from Mpix. I have used them in the past; as recently as Christmas for a gift and I was very impressed with the quality then. It looks like I need to shop elsewhere.
Nations Photo Lab (nationsphotolab.com). I just had a wonderful experience with them and the mistake was my fault. I highly recommend them.

Oh at Christmas last year they were great. I've been using them as my art show printer since 2012. They just got their new printers in sometime this year, and the results have been a disaster. I've gone round and round with them about it, and they finally told me I was just going to have to deal with it. I'm looking for a new printer as we speak. :)
Picture it on canvas. List prices are high, but they have sales if you're on mailing list, sometimes 75% off. Good quality. Also good for canvas, acrylic and other stuff. If list price of order is over 120, you get 60% off. So, don't pay list.

Metallic prints, and metal prints are vastly different.
You are absolutely correct - I should have read the title more carefully. I would recommend Bay photo for either - they provide both.
Also look at McKenna - I am very happy with their work.

MpixPro is completely different From MPix. I would say there might be a problem but it is not with Mpix. What you send into MpixPro is what you get back, they don't color correct at all. That is why it is called Pro. They assume you know what you are doing. Thanks

I know, they don't color correct regular prints either. That's why I posted the comparison between their regular prints and metal prints. When the same exact file produces such radically different results the problem is with the printer, not the file.

I will try this again. MpixPro is completely different from Mpix. If there is a problem it is not with them. MpixPro doesn't do any color correction, so what you send in is what you get back. That is why they call it Pro, they assume you know what you are doing. Thanks

OKsprat see my other post. MpixPro is different company from Mpix. If he gets tins back there is something wrong, but not with Mpix!!

MpixPro it's the high volume arm of Mpix. They're not different companies.
Here are some more images to illustrate my point. These are metal prints, all done by MpixPro. The ones on the left were done last fall, and the ones on the right are from this spring. The files haven't changed.
