Without a discussion I would definitely go for the Nikon P-900.

Ok without a discussion...I am going to spring for either a SX60 or a P900. I will be selling a Fuji S1 in very close to mint condition. What camera should I get. My other equipment is a FZ1000 A FZ300 and the Fuji S1. I will be up for an offer for the S1 in the $140 range...Please advise as to what you would do as to a new camera addition. Please no long discussion just what you would do. If you are interested in the S1 please advise,This is only going to stay up tonight as I am tired of thinking about both cameras...,,Thank You

Can't tell you what tool to use until I know what you want to do with it. Are you hammering a nail or drilling a hole?
Had an SX 60. Got better results with my older SX 50. Gave the 60 away and have been very happy with a P500. I have not been tempted by the added reach of the 900.
Take a look at Canon SX730HS

Since you have a camera (FZ300) that reaches to 600mm and has the same size sensor as the SX60 and P900 I would go with the P900. You don't have to use the 2000mm but it is there if you want to use it. I have this camera and a Sony RX10III.

I am guessing he wants to use it for general photography as probably 99% of us do.
Dennis
Neither - would be looking at a Sony. Less zoom better IQ. For handheld shots consider max zoom around 600mm
I absolutely don't claim to be an expert in anything, let alone cameras, but when I travel, I take an FZ1000 and the P900. I think I can quickly take any picture I want. I sold an SX60 to get the P900. When the SX60 came out, many on this and other sites claimed the SX50 was a better camera. I still have one and it lives in the counsel of a Buick Enclave. I think the FZ 1000 is my best camera, but on travels, the P900 will zoom onto any subject I want to capture.

Yeah, I would think common sense would lead at least in this forum, to think that.

OK. I'll bite. What exactly is "general photography"?
I took a P900 on safari before I knew I should be shooting in raw. I had a lot of fun with it and could zoom out beyond what our photographer could reach with his 400. I could photograph elephants ten feet away and then zoom out to an eagle on a far tree. I did not use a tripod but just propped it against my knee or side of the vehicle. It was much lighter than my other cameras with the limited weight.

From what I've read elsewhere, the usually great Canon lens engineers seem to have had a problem dealing with the compromises inherent in zoom required for the SX-60. That alone should not doom bridge cameras, but I am leery of their tiny sensors.

Why is the S1 failing to satisfy my needs....I did read the question...The SI IMHO build is excellent and it makes a very good outside camera...Lo light especially in videos is its downside. The weather proofing is excellent and my camera has been through some wet wet areas with no damage...I would say that it is extremely solid feeling....maybe better than a G15...BTW...it sold very quickly and having a FZ300 which is awesome as a back up is great.....thank you
I would recommend the P900 - you are looking for more reach - the P900 has it. It should also do a little better in low light situations due to its slightly faster lens wide-open (only available at or near minimum zoom, BTW). NO super zoom will give you great low-light results due to the fact they all have tiny sensors. I wouldn't have a super-zoom myself, or any camera with that size sensor - the image IQ is simply too compromised for my needs.
