Heard from Lensbaby..............
I've been in touch with Margaux Weeke at Lensbaby by email. I had decided to do a review of my Velvet 56 and Sweet 50 on their website, ran into problem with my Velvet review and emailed them asking that the Velvet 56 review be deleted, if possible, so I could redo it I had submitted my review and then realized I hadn't attached a Velvet 56 picture. Duh! She kindly deleted it for me and we then began a short correspondence in which I told her about our section on Ugly Hedgehog. She had never heard of UHH.
So, to get our pictures out there, we can post reviews of the current lenses/optics that they sell, and who knows who might see them and decide to get a Lensbaby.
I also asked her about posting pictures taken with the older Lensbabies that they have discontinued. Well, here's her response: ............
Cathryn,
No problem at all, thank you so much! I was not familiar with Ugly Hedgehog before but I'm checking it out now - awesome to know that Lensbaby users have rallied to make their own community. Do you know how many people overall use the site?
We haven't been including a lot of the discontinued shots on our site as of now, but I'm certainly not opposed to the idea. Also if you have additional shots with older lenses you can still send them over to me for use on social media, our policies are more lax on Instagram in particular - there we want to be showing as much of Lensbaby as we can, even the older products, and focusing more on sharing great photos than selling new lenses.
Have you heard about our Journey Story series or read any of the posts? I basically just started asking photographers to answer the question "what is your Lensbaby journey?" in their own words for a feature on the blog. Would you be interested in participating and writing something for me? It sounds like you have the Lensbaby bug : ) If so I can certainly feature your older photos on the blog post, so that's one workaround to sharing them on the website.
Thank you so much again, I really appreciate the enthusiasm and support!
Best,
Margaux

I did read through some of them.... I will have to give this some thought, but I don't know how interesting it will be! I just broke it to David that I want the Velvet 56 for Christmas... I wish I could get it sooner.

Maybe you could say, "I wouldn't mind getting earlier, hint, hint, hint..." Do you think he'd go for it??? lol!
Great post, Cathy. Thanks for letting Lensbaby about our site and section. I look forward to seeing your Journey Story, and I'll have to check out their website. I don't know how much of a Journey Story I have. It's more like a Trial and Error Story. Haha! I'll be on the look out for your story, and maybe it will inspire the rest of us.

Jane, IMO, there is not much of a story coming from me. It's just about how I got interested in photography and ended up with Lensbabies. I think trial and error stories would be very interesting and instructive, especially for people curious about Lensbabies and are considering getting one. They see our pictures, read our stories, and think that maybe they could take beautiful pictures too. And for me, since I already have them, such stories would be interesting for the parallels with my experience. And, you can post some of your beautiful pictures for more people to see. That could be very inspiring.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Cathy! I'm not sure I could even remember my journey. It's as hazy as my plastic optic photos. LOL
