Tamron is introducing a new lens for Canon and Nikon. It's an 18-400mm lens with stabilization which will sell for $659. That's a good price for a large spread. Let's wait for the reviews.

Do these large spread lenses ever live up to their expectation?

Wow , that's a 28.8-640mm spread on a Canon APS-C . I'm sure it won't be very fast , but a range like that will entice many people to buy one for the shear convenience unless the reviews aren't good .

I like quality, so I'll change a few lenses here and there and I'll be able to shoot in a lot lower lighting situation too. It's amazing what laziness can cost.

In my opinion, a range of 18-200 is about as far as I think I can go and get sharp images. I also have a 55-250 that is sharp.

I was at the Tamron Keep on Clicking road tour in Idaho Falls Idaho. This is the first event that featured the 18-400 zoom. I was one of the first that demoded this lens. It was amazing. I used my 60D. The local pro Christopher Balmer who owns Perfect Light a full range camera store used it the previous afternoon and evening. From close focusing to action shots of Burrowing Owls it preformed remarkably well, I am not a wide range zoom guy but this 22.2 glass is amazing as well as many of Tamron's products. G2's, matched TC's, and the FF 15-35 UWA are amazing. Good job Tamron. I do not work for Tamron or hold stock, but do own some glass. I will consider Tamron in the future.

Does Nikon make one like it? I thought I saw one on Adorama, but I can't find it now.

I believe that Nikon's closes thing is an 18-300. Tamron seems to have set a new standard.

I was at the Tamron Keep on Clicking road tour in ... (show quote)

I had the Keep on Clicking Tour here in my store on Tuesday, the 18th. Got to play with this lens on my D500 and my D7500. It was a little soft on the long end at first, but after applying AF Fine tuning it was amazingly sharp! Got my first shipment of these little beauties!

Your comment is offensive. "Laziness", is uncalled for.

Sorry, no offense meant, just call it like I see it. Did I strike a bone?

I was amazed. What did you think of their matched TCs?
