Amazing lens! I can't stress this enough. If not for an unplanned emergency expense, I wouldn't even think of parting with it (also selling my favorite motorcycle...sigh). I tried to photograph it to show the great glass condition and think it worked but if you want more, let me know. It was from B&H Photo, not a Japan version. I'm the second owner (Paypal receipt shows seller as Mavrix Photo, Inc). He said he shot less than 300 images with it and I only shot about 50 images (I only bought it in March). I just now took the bird photo. The moon photo in my posted images was right after I got it (and was the 1st pic I took). The bluebird photo I also posted was handheld using this magnificent lens. If you want me to photograph something specific to prove quality (like my husband holding something with his specified hand on his head or other random thing that I'd never have already, just ask. Asking $8500.00 including free, insured shipping (continental USA).
I see you are in sw fla.I am In Sarasota fl would like to see the lens and bring my 5d marklll to see how it works. Thank you frank. 941-961-4958
It's a little hard to believe that it has only been used to take 350 images (total) and the foot is this scratched up.
How old is this lens? What was the date of purchase? or if you don't know we can always look up the date code that it has stamped into the bayonet mount.
just to let the rest of the members no. i stopped over at tammys home on the 15th of july to take a look at the 800mm lens. i took about 15 shots with my 5D marklll and also about 15 shots with my old work horse the 50D. the lens took very good pictures and looks to be in very good condition. she took the camo off the lens and there were no problems with it. if you are looking for a lens of this caliber i would say, go for it. i am 70 years old, i think it may be a little big for me . if you want to put the bear in your back pocket, this will do it.
It was great to meet another HH member! My husband very much enjoyed visiting with you, also. He was talking about your owl shot for about 15 minutes after you left, lol! Thanks for coming to look. Yep, it IS a beast!
