In the P,S,A, or M mode when focusing the LCD image just keeps oscillating back and forth. In the Superior or Intelligent mode the focus locks in and beeps.
Any thoughts?
Second question. I shoot travel, landscapes, and grandchildren. Use RAW. I like having a high quality pocketable camera when carrying D750 seems too heavy. RX100 has been great....but, like me, getting long in the tooth.
Is it time to upgrade RX100----or another choice?
Thanks
Crbuckjr - when you say "the LCD image just keeps oscillating back and forth" are you describing how your camera 'hunts for focus' or are you saying the LCD screen image actually 'moves' up or down or from side to side? The former is a problem of technique that can be solved. The latter probably indicates a broken camera. If it is broken, why are you even asking whether it's time to buy a new camera? Have you contacted Sony about the problem?
the former.....sorry not to be precise....appreciate any advice on "technique" that might address this...
Probably two different questions.....but wondering if the upgrades since the original RX100 are significant....
thanks
1. Sorry no idea
2. I have the RX 100 Mark III but it's a 24-70 lens. But it does have a great electronic view finder. It's a wonderful camera and like you said perfectly pocketable.😜
