A group of juvenile black shouldered kites i came across sitting in a dead tree ... Lots of broken cloud so i sat and waited for the sun to peak out and a storm cloud to be behind them ... you often see large groups of juveniles working a paddock together ... with a mouse plague in the area this year i knew they would not be hard to find ... these birds will go all white with black shoulders and bright red eyes once matured .... they are not far off this group would be last years young .. canon 7d2 sigma 150-600 sport late afternoon , i had found this much loved perch in the morning sun was in my face , so i returned late afternoon and these birds were still taking off and landing at this perch
Your patience paid off big time as the light looks great in these shots. Nice work all around on these beautiful birds.
...these are pretty fantastic...what a beautiful bird...I love the wing formation in the first photo...!
That is a beautifully done set. You really got some very nice captures.

Super shots, Dave. You've been really nailing some great BIFs lately.

Another great set Dave. Well done.
Gorgeous birds in perfect light. Super photos!
#1 is a terrific picture; exposure, composition, bird position. Very nice.

I've got Red Kites by the hundred here, nice to see if a different variety. Good shots, extremely viewable.
