Hi,
I believe that number 2 is a quite remarkable picture. The unobtrusive vinette is done to perfection , the background slightly soft just as it should be., and the detail in the dress is superb. The focus point is where it should be ' on the eyes '. I was Wedding Photographer for a number of years, and was always pleased when I captured images like this. I bet the Bride loves it, the husband too, Lots of orders for re-prints will follow I'm sure!

I sure hope you are right about the re-prints :) Thank you very much for the nice comments. It is one of my favorites, and is in my portfolio now.

I AM NOT A PRO! I like them both. Maybe a little more light on her face in the second one. Very nice job!

My new disclaimer. I AM NOT A PRO, but I've seen them on UH, so I can tell you what is wrong. Kind of an Alex Baldwin answer.

Now that's funny!

I really like #2 and I think it is the slight darkness that does it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you. Sharing to get some CC helps to reinforce some things, and learn some new stuff. Gotta be able to take the good with the bad to continue to learn. Thanks again.

That's a good attitude, my friend, good to hear.

I like the second one best- the light quality is much better. The first one looks like too much flash producing a "whiter" light.

Thanks for taking the time to view and comment. Interesting point. These are both lit the same way. I find your observation interesting, in that it may be that some of the light may have been reflected/bounced off other things in the church. Whereas outside there would be no possibility of that. I'm guessing here though, both were lit with a strobe, umbrella and diffuser on and metered. Both were retouched the same way also.

I have to agree with the gang, #2 is my favorite! Both have great lighting ratios.

Seems to be the popular vote. Thanks.

Your eye will naturally go to the brightest part of a photo. Although the interior shot is good, there are a lot of "bright" things in the photo behind the bride that cause you to go back and forth. In the outdoor photo, background is darker so bride stands out. Good photos.
