Ordering from B&H

Yeah, really! To prematurally post an "issue" before getting any facts is irresponsible. It is a disservice to a company to voice discomfort without knowing anything. The bell has been rung for some and that's not fair. Maybe it's your delicate sensibilities that are in question.

So, let's review: I placed an order for 2 items. I received a confirmation with a single order number for those 2 items. I received a shipping confirmation with a single tracking number for that order listing both items. A package arrived with a packing slip indicating both items were enclosed yet only 1 item was in the package. Perhaps you can tell me what facts I'm lacking.

I shared my experience calling the retailer reputable and saying I was confident they'd make it right. But I added that I was discouraged that this occurred on only my second order with said retailer and asked if others have had similar experiences. Others responded saying they've had only good experiences with the retailer and my experience is not at all typical which I'm pleased to know. They understood the nature of my inquiry; you chose to call it disgusting. Thank you for your input.

What a self righteous girly man! You still don't get it, but at the very least it was an opinion and if you don't like it....oh, well. Must have offended your rather delicate sensibilities.

Very Rare. Every now and then, every large company makes an error - I guess it was just your turn to draw the "short straw"! B&H is extremely good about everything I have experienced in dealing with them. Customer service is excellent. Don't let this discourage you, despite the frustration of being shorted an item in your order. As I said, Very Rare.

I am a long time user of B&H and what you are mentioning is exactly what happened to me recently. The invoice showed that everything but 1 item was missing. After contacting them they told me that the second item was being shipped separately and that I would be receiving it soon, WHICH I did, the next day. I have never,ever, had any problems with purchasing from B&H, or returning items.

Sometimes they must ship their advertised products from different locations, they should arrive soon, call C/S for shipping details.

Hopefully they'll surprise you with a third package with your missing item Monday. I have only placed a few orders with B&H thus far. All were fine. And they were the kind that could get screwed up having various different sized items included. No experience yet with dealing with them over errors like you described. Good luck.

P.S. I do know that at least once I purchased multiple items from a company that were shipped separately from more than one location but contained only a single packing slip arriving different days. Yes, confusing, and it worried me at the time so I contacted the shipper. Obviously not a great policy. Everything worked out OK in the end.

I recently ordered a lens cap and some Canon ink from B&H...both items shipped the same day but separately. The ink came in a day later. Both packages contained identical packing slips listing both lens cap and ink. I too was concerned when opening the first package with only a lens cap and no ink...but showing both items shipped. Looking closer...I think both packages contained a copy of the order and not really packing slips.

Anyway...all is well and B&H service is great.

I hate and like B&H.

Hate because I am a professional video camera salesman. They sell cameras (except fixed price like Sony FS7) so cheap it's hard to match their price and make a living. I like B&H because I buy a lot of personal DSLR camera equipment and normally I buy refurbished lenses or bodies. And I get a decent price.

Thanks, LouV, for writing. Let us know what happened and how it is resolved. This is an opportunity for a "revered" supplier to look good following an unfortunate mistake. Cool your jets, folks. Cool your jets.
