Have been looking at example galleries here and there and decided to try different things. More and more surprised what I can do with it. All water drops mine. One huge, huge help is my $10 Field & Stream stool that I would urge all to get. Lightweight, folding, has a strap. Goes everywhere with me now right along with tripod. Helps me with low and high shots, I don't get stuck on ground as often, with camera on tripod and remote, my hands are free and shots are steady. Only wind situations occasionally but with remote sitting on stool, I can just relax and watch screen for still moment-then press. Will send picture of it soon.
Dreamy and creamy images, Sandy!! Impatiens?? I love the different effects this lens creates and now I'm counting the days till Christmas!!
What did you do on #3 to get those colors.... I'm really drawn to that one!
Keep playing and posting, I love seeing the different lenses and what they can create!!

I am enjoying the Velvet more than ever. The look of #3 is a LR preset. Last year I decided that I would go with presets at times so that I would not have to live on the computer. It would take a great deal of study and time to get some of these looks and at my age, why bother. I would rather be out shooting. I don't feel that it is wrong to do this. The experts develop their own presets and use over and over and in group processing. And that is a good thing. You still have to find the subject, take a decent photo with good composition and work with the presets to either find different looks or get a look closer to what your eyes saw when taking the photo. Let's keep learning!!!!

Absolutely nothing wrong with presets... I use them all the time, but there are so many and which one, that takes time.... I'd much rather be out shooting!!
Between today's outing with my husband and Sunday with my friend, I have hundreds of shots to go through!!!
Always fun!!!
Just gorgeous, Sandy! I love what you've done in the third shot, nice processing. The spot of light behind the flowers really makes them pop and stand out. #4 is very appealing with the focus on the bud and leaves. Love the last shot too, with the bright yellow blossom and the two buddies in the background. All very nicely done.

Thank you for your nice comments. Was sitting on my stool, eye level with container, moving camera and just looking. This is truly addictive.
All mysterious and beautiful, Sandy. I love all your shots and your lovely processing that doesn't diminish the lensbaby effect. Sometimes I've found myself processing the lensbaby effect right out of the image and have to go back and start over.

IMO, there is absolutely nothing wrong with presets. I've noticed Pros use them. If presets work for them, then they'll surely work for the rest of us if we want to use them!
BTW, excellent idea about using the stool, tripod and remote shutter![/quote
So very glad you enjoyed all! My little camp stool is an absolute help in so many ways. Only had problem once when I placed it on an incline. As I sat down, the stool, camera and I just tipped backwards. Didn't let go of camera and just rolled back with it all. Must have looked ridiculous! Rule #1- place stool on even ground.[/quote]
LOL!
