Very creative series, Vicki. I think the subtle bits of color add life to the shots! I love your little pineapple thingy!

The color is part of the prism effect I think, but in some cases it was a product of trees reflected off the table surface. I thought it added a bit of interest. In a more controlled situation, the shots would have been more of a study of light and dark contrasts.

Thanks for taking time for this post Carol. I appreciate it.

One of my art professors in college painted reflections - lots of ice cubes. ....That gives me another idea....

Thanks for taking time to let me know you enjoyed these John.

For any who have enjoyed my flower reflection experiments, here are some from the next phase that are kind of different. I'll probably continue to play with this theme a bit more as ideas evolve. Professionals probably wouldn't have had tree reflections (bits of yellow and green here and there) cropping into their images, but they did add a bit of additional color - or that's my excuse for not eliminating them.

These are heirloom crystal serving pieces from my grandmother with the exception of the pineapple trinket, a souvenir from some European trip.

All were shot outside in the shade with a Canon 60 D and a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens mounted on a tripod.

The first shot is a fantastic example of cut glass work. When you are tired of it, I would be honored to have it. LOL.
