My 600 and 2xTC seem to work together really well. I can't say the same for my 100-400mm II with 1.4x TC....I'll have to focus tune that one. The 100-400mm by itself though is spot on. I guess it's the luck of the draw and if you got a good combo, hang on to it!Jul 3, 2017 22:33:30 #

Thank you very much Rick! Like I commented to Carol, My 2x TC works really well with my EF 600mm.
The 600 and the combo both register "0" with Lens Align/Focus Tune on my 1d body. That's why I can make the images sharp.
If you notice in the second shot of the series, the eye/face is sharp while the body is OOF. Even at f8, DOF is too narrow to get the whole body in focus at 1200mm
