Hello Sue thanks for stopping by the difference in water color may have been in the location of the sun and or the shadows from the buildings.

Generally, you will always see a difference in the water between the two Rivers. A lot of it depends on the weather, how much rain has washed mud into the river. Three days later that mud will pass Wheeling, WV.

Try going to Google Maps and zoom in on the Point in Pittsburgh. You'll see the same thing.
