John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids is home for an impressive collection of wild life. It was easy to capture 358 images but it was also a challenge because of the wire barriers, reflections on the
scratched glass, people bombing a shot, etc. I hope you enjoy a few of my favorites. I like to get comments and please fire away with criticisms.

Annie, considering the difficulties of zoo photography, I think you did a very good job on these. I particularly like the big cats. The lioness has such a dignified look and the tigers are so powerful even in a photo!

Nice series Annie, like them all.
One tiny nit pick, your focus looks slightly off on the tiger close up and the little mouse fellow. (Maybe due to fencing or glass?)
Looks like an interesting zoo.

Thank you very much, Bruce. I should have mentioned I wasn't pleased with the close up of the tiger. He was right up to the glass and moving. No excuse for the blurry chinchilla. He
was so cute and was soft as cotton. 😊

Nice series in spite of the difficulties. Particularly like the Brown Bear, and is the first one a cougar/mountain lion? Just asking since someone referred to a lioness and she/he doesn't look particularly like one.

I too enjoyed the pictures; however, I believe the 1st. is a cougar, not a lioness.

With all the constraints to deal with Annie your set is enjoyable with very good captures. My favourites are the big cats, love #1.

Thank you for your nice response, TJB. The Brown Bear is a favorite of mine. I wasn't very pleased with my images of the tigers. #1 is a cougar. I got a couple shots of the lion - he wasn't being cooperative, so didn't get one worth posting. 😊

I always look forward to your comments, Sylvia. To be truthful. I wasn't satisfied with my images of the tigers. I shot them from my wheelchair. Next time I'll try standing up so I can
put my lens right up to the glass which should eliminate the scratches on it.
