May I also thank everyone. This has been an incredible place for me to learn. And I think I've gotten better with the wonderful help.

Good idea, Mytherwyn.

Same here! No book or course can compare to the community of generous UHHer!

A famed behavior scientist once said "Learning is teaching and teaching is learning."
You may have to ponder that for a moment, but it is a profoundly true observation.

I agree... I've been using Paint programs since the early 1980's, starting in DOS, and I'm still learning new things all the time. My "Hats Off" to all those that give advice and help others....

When I joined the Hog things like DOF F/stops WB didnt mean a thing to me and why people went on about about manual was just a joke, as for aperture who needs that???????????? in three years of owning a DSLR i had only shot Auto or A (I was told to alter the f/stop to F8)BUT yesterday i tried shooting in manual,at this time would love to have said great success but no, to dark!! but i will try again today thank to the Hogg

I too appreciate all the help I have gotten on UHH. The times I have ask a question I have always gotten a quick and good answer. Also it has rekindled my photography. I spent many years doing professional work and made a descent living at it, but I had reached a point that the only time I picked up a camera was when I was being paid for my services. All the fun was gone, just work, work, and more work. Long days( min 12 hour days and 6, often 7 days a week) no time for anything. It is good to want to just go take pictures again for the fun of it.

Agreed. I don't think I ever shot in manual before joining UHH. Still not very proficient at it but I am learning, albeit slowly. Lot's of good ideas and helpful suggestions, and often entertaining. UHH is how I start the day. :D :D :D

I'll jump in and say thanks, too...I really appreciate the opportunity to make some new friends who share my passion/addiction to photography. On the advice of my UGG friends I bought the Canon 7D and am having fun learning all the bells and whistles!

I have learned more here on UHH in a short time I than I ever suspected existed about photography. I didn't know an f stop from a door stop when I joined, so I must also say thanks to this great forum and it's fine & knowledgeable members. This site rocks. What I love about it is that in addition to the wealth of information, their are great photos, interesting discussions and always a good laugh. My day always starts with UHH and a cup of coffee.

My sentiments exactly! And even though I might not get any comments on the many pictures I post, I guess that it's because they are fine, so all is good :)
