In early May, I was contacted by the graphic artist at Rancho Santa Ana Botanic Garden in Claremont California. On my Flickr page, he had found macro-photographs of California Dogface butterflies, chrysalis, caterpillars, and eggs. The Garden erects a net-structured 'Butterfly House' every summer, and was interested in using my photographs to illustrate the life-cycle of the California State butterfly.
After coming to a one-time-use arrangement (which included a sit-down portfolio review with the Garden Gift Shop manager), I supplied a few high-rez files, which the graphic artist printed on two banners, now hung in the Butterfly House. My name is on the bottom of each banner. More banners may follow, centered on other butterfly species.
P.S. - Store manager purchased 3-each of seven 4x6-inch class-mounted prints (21 total) and 1-each of three 13x19-inch glass-mounted prints.
Congratulations. Excellent as usual.
Just found this now Douglass. This is so great. Well done, and congratulations!
