Thanks, in this case it was a lady with a in service dog and a man walked up with his son and wanted to take a picture of the dog and his son. The dog handler said no as the dog was in training and didn't want the dog to pay attention to the kid. The man went away and had his kid kneel down and he took the picture of the kid and the lady with her dog in the back ground. I was just a witness.

Suppose you attend a rock concert at an indoor or outdoor venue, and take photos of the artists, can you publish your photos in a book that someone would buy and do you need a release from the artists? It's a sticky and somewhat confusing area. Thanks for the response.

One or both paws? :)

Just the inside toe of the right front paw (if the dog is right-pawed; if left-pawed, use toe of left paw). Ask the dog or just observe which paw is used more often in recreational activities (paw on persons knee, leg extended when sleeping, drags objects, etc.).

I meant a photograph someone else took OR an image of an identifiable person other than the photographer. i would have thought "commercial purposes" was pretty obvious. It's when you make money.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm quite sure you are incorrect in your understanding of a photographer's ability to make money from a legally obtained photo of a person in a public place.

Well, I guess we can agree to disagree. As the saying goes, "You can disagree without being disagreeable."

I'm agreeable to that.

Thanks for the spelling lesson Kissel vonKeister. I never was a very good speller. But just for clarification, should I "get serious" or should I "lighten up", as you put it. Reminds me of the scene where the cop says "freeze, get your hands up" and the prep says"well, what're ya want me to do, causal if'n I raise my hands, well they'll be a mov'in, and if they're a moving, then how can I freeze?"

Get serious, counselor. People discuss legalities all the time without professing any official position in the matter. BTW, it's copyright. Lighten up.

Sorry for all the junk latter in the chain bee. Kissel and I were having some fun
. My advice, shoot the dog once in both feet and run like hell.
