Does anyone shoot with the Tokina 11-16mm, f2.8, AT-X Pro SD IF DX autofocus lens? Do you like it? Is it compatible with the Nikon D5600?
I have the 11-20mm and love it. Had a lot of good comments on the 11-16mm here on UHH.

I have that lens, and while it is a great lens, it is somewhat prone to flair. It will not autofocus on your D5600 as it does not have an internal focus motor, and the D5600 doesn't have a focus motor built in like the D7xxx and up cameras do. If you don't mind manually focusing I highly recommend it.
I just bought it and so far so good. I took some amazing photos of the Milky Way yesterday. It's a bit heavy

The Tokina 11-16mm and 11-20mm both f2.8, are both very good ultra wide lenses. The only differences IMO, are the zoom ranges and the prices. These two lenses have been greatly mentioned on this forum of late.

I have the 11-16MM Tokina and like it a lot, it's a keeper. The build quality is very good--made in Japan. Using this lens can be tricky. I call it twisted fun and cropping can help with images that look so far away. The sharpness is exceptional. There are some excellent articles to be reviewed on "How to photograph with a super wide angle lenses" if you google as noted. When you think you are close, get closer. I correct flair using Elements 13--clone stamp tool. Yes ... it should work fine on your D5600.

A friend has this lens and I tested it against some others. It is a good middle-of-the-pack lens IMO. There are better !

Wonderful lens. I used it on my D7000 in Costa Rica. Here is one of the images. This is one of the older 11-16's that doesn't have a built in auto focus motor. They now make one for your camera with the focus motor.

I use it with D7000 and D7100 -- excellent lens. Solid build.

Two versions of this lens exist: the older version doesn't have an internal focus motor, the newer (II) version does. Other than that, they're optically the same, and almost physically the same, too.
Your D5600 does NOT have a built in focusing motor so it is NOT COMPATIBLE with the older version of the 11-16. It could be used but manual focus only.
The Tokina 11-16 Version 2 is completely compatible, great lens. I have the Tokina 11-20 f/2.8 and really like the photo quality

I have owned and used this lens and it is a very nice wide angle. As many others have noted, the original version does not autofocus on Nikon cameras below the 7xxx series. The DX II version does autofocus on 3xxx and 5xxx Nikons. I used the 11-16 DX II on a D5100 and shot thousands of pictures, including some that won merit awards in local photo competitions. It is very solidly built and the autofocus was reasonably quick and accurate on my D5100. I now own the Tokina 14-20 f2, which I use on my D7200. It is also an excellent lens, though not as wide as the 11-16. Depending on your goals it might be worth consideration given the quality of the D5600 sensor, though it is a bit more expensive than the 11-16. It will focus on the D5600. In my opinion (shared by DXO Mark testing) the 14-20 is the sharpest of the Tokina wide angles along with being the fastest.

I shoot with this lens and I love it. A friend asked me to take a photograph of her carrying the U.S. flag while in a small parade. When I went to do so I was approximately 3 feet from her and she said stop and back up I want all me in the photo. I replied the ole "trust me" and a couple of days later gave her a print of all of her and old glory. I also use this lens for doing work for a realtor. Actually have 2 of this lens, one is for backup.
Some nice shots folks! Lots of discussion on wider lenses. Any thoughts on the 12-24 or 12-28? I know they are a little slower but they also have a wider range which could be useful for landscape folks like myself.
I do need to check on this f2 though!
