I don't think it's at all strange that someone would play a harmonica in Carnegie Hall. Any blues fan can name numerous harmonica, or "blues harp" players good enough to play Carnegie Hall.
Nice. Larry Adler was a master of the harmonica. The Harmonicats were at the other end of the spectrum. It was Herb Shriner, on his TV show, who got me started playing the harmonica when I was a kid.
