Thanks again, people!
Since I started this, I thought to post another of mine. This is from one of my earlier posts of a queen carpenter ant who was just about to enter her new life. At this point I was serious about macrophotography for only a couple months, and I was still using an old 50mm on extension tubes and the only flash I had was the tiny on-camera flash. My diffuser was a piece of milk carton plastic, fastened on with twist-ties. This picture made me realize that I was going to really stick with this hobby.

Found this Skipper butterfly fast asleep. I took at least a dozen photos. Enlarge to count hairs & scales!

These images have been shot with Canon EOS 750D with 18-55 STM lens reversed. Built-in-flash (diffused and +2 stops compensation).
Image stabilization is OFF, Autofocus is ON.. but I use back-button focus to acquire initial focus.

Sorry I am so late in responding to your invitation to add favourites to your post. I like this shot which is not too good technically but I liked the fact that I caught the wing beats even though it was just luck.

I like the composition, Brenda. The blurry wings are more like what i usually get since I have not found settings that freeze the wings of flying insects. But actually I too like the blurry wings anyway since it adds an arty sense of movement. So 👍

I just now noticed that the pink flower is reflected in one of the bee eyes. That is pretty cool!
