NiZn (Nickle-Zinc) Batteries

Have you had experience with these batteries? I use them in my back-up camera, a CanonSX150is. No other types of AA's would last more than a handful of shots. I am wondering if that added voltage level of these batteries, at 1.7 volts, has caused any problems with those having used them in other cameras. I am amazed at the performance I get from the NiZn's. If there is a feature that may trouble any user, it might be the sudden drop in voltage when recharging is required. There is no forewarning of this happening as might occur with NiMh batteries. Like to hear some comments.

I also use them and have had no problems they are about the same voltage as a good alkaline battery

I wanted the added voltage so I tried 8 of them. They don't hold their charge well at all. They died in a short time.

Streets - I have no experience with the NiZn batteries. I have a Sony (AAA) and a Canon (AA) cameras that used to use both regular and rechargable batteries at a terrible rate, very short lifespan. I have since discovered and now use Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries that provide me with amazingly long life in both cameras. They are a bit more expensive but in my opinion, well worth the money. I also use them in flash units, handheld GPS, stud finder, etc. again with superior results. Try some.

I have used them for years in my portable flashes, they work better and longer than any other rechargeable batteries, plus they recycle a lot faster. They do tend to discharge faster when not in use though.
Also, they REQUIRE their own charger, regular 1.2 volt chargers will ruin them.

Haha. Bad choice of a trade name. A google search brings up a few hundred hits related to Pi Cell staining of . . . . . well, medical stuff anyway. Time for them to rewind their marketing.
