Why did you buy new equipment? Not totally satisfied with the Sony? Just curious. Love the beaver shots.

suntouched, thanks for your visit and comment ! ....................I am totally satisfied with Sony - but I do still wonder about my BIF keeper rates with the EVF . - the optical VF and Canon's superior AF does have an advantage in this regard only IMO. I had the opportunity to get an 80D - so I replaced my 50D with it.
The 12FPS of the Sony is somewhat of an equalizer though ....but I have to shoot wide open aperture (f4) to get it - otherwise I am at 8FPS - and still more than the 80D !
Great shot! Good luck in the future.

I was out doing a lens test today - looking for BIF to use my new Canon 80D and 400mm L prime on. ( Still using Sony for most things other than BIF)
I knew there were Otters in the area because I was getting glimpses of them sporadically for the past 3 years ! ( but NEVER a photograph ! )
Yesterday we saw 2 adults swimming ........TODAY, we saw one adult with two young ones. We saw the adult get a fish and disappear with the young ones into dense foliage. They move very fast and you only get about 20-30 seconds of opportunity. I managed a decent shot of the adult only !
- but good enough for a box-check on my bucket list. This is my first Otter shots since I retired 6 years ago ! ( they are very elusive)
Tomorrow, since we now know there are young ones, we will return and try to get a family shot
Canon 80D, 400mm 5.6 L prime, f7.1, 1/1000, ISO 320, hand held sitting on ground ......

Nice shots. I see them occasionally, but usually it is on the way back from a hike and it is in very low light at the end of the day. They don't like coming out in the daytime around here. The beaver are the same at the pond. At some point I will get nice lighting. Thanks for sharing.
Well done. These are very nice. Tack sharp.

Bozsik, a pleasure for your visit and comment ! .....yes, in the past I have seen them either early or late in the day - so we were VERY surprised to see them in the middle of the day !
