I do not know what you are willing to pay for a refurbished D7100, but you can get one from B&H Photo for $650. They may be going fast.

Has anyone tried this: ask store to notify when a 'XYZ' comes in?

I got my T3i directly from Canon just after Christmas when people are trading up. Watch for sales of new equipment, especially if a trade-in is involved. Just be patient

Patience is definitely not one of my better qualities, but in this case, I don't think I have much of a choice. Anyway, we will see what happens! Thank you for your reply spencerp !

I second the recommendation to try KEH. They are less expensive than the Canon and Nikon refurb prices and come with a 180 day warranty. I am very happy with the items I have purchased from them.

If you tread carefully, Ebay is another option. I've purchased a few items without regret.

I have bought refurbished equipment directly from both NikonUSA and Canon USA. I never was asked to buy more than one item. They guarantee the product and the word here on The Hog is the refurb'd products can be actually better than a new off the production line item because it has been indudually checked by a technician.

Is there a particular time of year when Nikon and Canon have an abundance of Refurbished cameras available? I have been looking for a refurbished Nikon D7100, got one from Cameta a while ago, but they have none now. I have checked BH, and Adorama also, no joy. Nikon USA ,have none either. Any information on this would be greatly appreciated ! Thank you.

I'd say just keep checking on a regular basis. If you find one from other than Nikon U.S.A., make sure it's a US camera. Some used camera sellers will deal with off shore equipment.

It may also be that the available stock of 7100's is getting more and more scarce for refurbishment and the 7200 will now take it's place now that the 7500 is just getting released.

nikonbrain, thanks for the offer on your D7100. I am not really sure at this point what I am going to do. It sounds like a pretty good deal. I am going to keep it in mind, while I figure out what I am going to do. I live on the south side of the Skyway in Bradenton, so not very far away. Thanks again !
